On Being Observed

On Being Observed

Over the past weeks, someone spent time with our apron.
Not briefly, but in use.

The review was published by Cappyc, a blog by Carlos with a clear attention to everyday objects and how they hold up over time.

What we found most interesting was the way certain details were noticed.

“The apron feels considered without drawing attention to itself.”

“It settles into use rather than announcing itself.”

These are close to how we think about the piece. Not as something to stand out, but something that becomes part of a routine.

There were also observations that only emerge with wear.

“The fabric softens in a way that suggests it will age well.”

“Small details start to make sense once you spend time with it.”

This is where a product leaves the studio and becomes something else. Finished, but still ongoing.

Objects change once they are used.
It is good to see them in that state.
