Inside TANN – The Design Principles We Follow

TANN is built on a simple idea: that everyday tools should feel grounded, functional and enduring. Nothing decorative, nothing loud. Just objects shaped with intention.

A few principles guide us:

1 – Calm over attention
A TANN object does not try to stand out. Its presence is quiet. It waits to be used, not noticed.

2 – Function defines form
Every line, angle and material choice serves a purpose. If it does not improve use, it does not belong.

3 – Materials with integrity
We choose materials that tell the truth with time: titanium, canvas, thick cotton, solid metal. They don’t pretend. They age honestly.

4 – Fewer objects, better ones
A toolkit does not need to be large. It needs to be capable. One good apron. One precise comb. One cap that fits and lasts.

5 – Slow improvements, not constant reinvention
We refine. We adjust. We make small corrections. We do not release new versions for the sake of novelty.

Design, for us, is not a style. It is a responsibility.
A commitment to make tools that will outlive trends – and, ideally, outlive us.
